Telegram is set to become significantly smarter as the platform officially enters into a partnership with Elon Musk’s xAI, integrating the Grok chatbot and a series of powerful AI features across its ecosystem. Pavel Durov, the founder and CEO of Telegram, confirmed the development via posts on both X (formerly Twitter) and Telegram.
This one-year agreement will see Grok AI embedded into all versions of the Telegram app, giving Telegram’s billion-plus users instant access to advanced conversational AI. Grok will be pinned by default in chats and will also be accessible through Telegram Search, simplifying its use across conversations and workflows.

Financially, the deal marks a strategic boost for Telegram. The platform is set to receive USD 300 million in a mix of cash and equity from xAI. Additionally, Telegram will earn 50% of the revenue generated from xAI subscriptions sold within Telegram, providing a robust monetization model.
Telegram also teased upcoming AI-powered features through a video clip shared by Durov, which previewed innovations set to debut starting June 2025.
