Samsung appears set to shake up its Galaxy Buds lineup with two new additions: the Galaxy Buds Core and the Galaxy Buds 3 FE. The latest APK teardown of the Galaxy Buds Controller app (Wear OS version v1.0.08.38) reveals references to both these models, pointing toward imminent launches and a shift in Samsung’s naming convention.

According to the code findings, the model numbers associated with the upcoming devices are as follows:
R410: Galaxy Buds Core
R420: Galaxy Buds 3 FE

This development confirms earlier rumors suggesting Samsung might skip the anticipated Galaxy Buds FE 2 or Galaxy Buds 2 FE naming entirely. Instead, the successor to the original Galaxy Buds FE (model R400) may launch as the Galaxy Buds Core, indicating a possible rebranding or new strategy for the mid-range TWS segment.

In parallel, the Galaxy Buds 3 FE seems set to further expand the Galaxy Buds 3 family, which debuted with the Buds 3 Pro around July–August 2024. Though details about specs or features remain under wraps, the discovery of model numbers at this stage usually precedes launch within a few months.

Samsung’s decision to sidestep traditional sequential naming suggests a streamlined or repositioned product roadmap—potentially aimed at differentiating models not just by generation, but by use case or performance tier. The Core label may imply a more essential or entry-level experience, whereas the FE (Fan Edition) badge generally indicates a budget-friendly offering with flagship-like features.

As with all APK teardowns, it’s important to note that these findings come from code references and not from official product announcements. While indicative of Samsung’s development pipeline, final names or features could change before public release.
